Dear District 29Q School Community,
We are excited to announce that CEC 29Q Student Member Alyssa Beaumont, a senior at District 29 M.A.S.T. High School, has been appointed to serve on the Council by Community School District 29 Superintendent Dr. Bonds. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Alyssa as she begins this important role within our educational community.
As a CEC 29 Student Member, Alyssa shared that her goal is to actively engage in the process and learn about the factors that influence her education and that of her peers. This role provides her with a valuable opportunity to participate in discussions on policies, decisions, and initiatives that directly shape the student experience in District 29Q.
In accordance with Education Law 2530-d, a Student Member on the CEC is afforded the right to participate in council meetings and discussions, with a focus on representing the voices and concerns of the student body. While they do not have a vote, Student Members play an important advisory role, offering valuable perspectives on educational issues and helping to ensure that student interests are considered in decision-making.
We are confident that Alyssa will bring insightful ideas and perspectives to the council, and we look forward to her contributions.
Please join us in supporting Alyssa as she embarks on this exciting journey!
Warm regards,The CEC 29Q Team!

Find out how CEC 29 can make a difference
CEC29 Empowering
CECs (Community Education Councils) offer parents the opportunity to support and impact education at the district level. With the support of our parent community we can make a difference.

CEC29 Educating
CECs are education policy advisory bodies responsible for, among other things, reviewing and evaluating their district’s educational programs, approving zoning lines, and holding public hearings on certain matters.

CEC29 Engaging
CECs hold at least one meeting per month with the community superintendent, open to the public, where the public may discuss the current state of the schools in the district and hear a report from the district leader.
