David Washington, Member

My name is David Washington. I'm a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice where I hold a Bachelor of Science degree. I'm a retired Warden whereas I worked at Riker’s Island for almost 30 years. I spent over 22 years in various leadership positions. I'm very active in the church. I served on various ministries such as: The Choir and Men's Ministry. Presently, I serve on the Finance Committee and Steward Board. I'm also an entrepreneur in the areas of financial literacy and investing. I hold numerous investment licenses. I believe that the children are our future. I love impacting children and families in a positive way. I believe that I was called to make a difference. In addition, I'm presently the PTA president for 2024-2025 at Ps/Ms 147Q where my grandson attends. Previously, I've held this position from 2021 to 2023. I've sat on the SLT as well being instrumental in shaping the lives of our youth. I love having a servant leadership mindset. This always gives me the opportunity to learn as I become a wealth of knowledge and a vast resource to others.
