Latrina Mitchell, 1st Vice President

I graduated Magna Cum Laude  with a BS in secondary Education, a Bachelor of Arts in women’s studies, and Master’s degree in developmental leadership from New York University’s Steinhart School Of Education. 
I am driven by my passion to advocate for the social emotional and academic growth, and fair treatment of all our children. I have been speaking up and speaking out for children since I was a teen, taking the international stage as a representative of the U.S at the New York Rotary Club's Ambassador Program, traveling to the United Kingdom - Manchester University, followed by commendation to the Global Kids youth advisory board based at the United Nations in NY - a youth advocacy group. I have served as a youth leader and mentor in my church for over 17 years working with children ages2- young adulthood, and as a youth advocate for various communities. I am actively involved in organizations such as C.O.P.S. Metro, NY chapter - (Concerns Of Police Survivors) Trustee Board member, Queens Borough President’s appointee to the Community Education Council 1st Vice President School district 29Q, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Alpha Mu Chapter, NOBLE NY,(National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives) - serves on the Youth and Women’s committees and will be a youth conference workshop presenter encouraging youth to dream this summer in New Orleans. I also hold a significant public service role within the New York State Unified Court System as a Senior Supreme Court Clerk of New York City’s - Civil Term. I served as a member of the NYC Special Education PTSA by- laws commitee helping to craft the by laws and the nominating committee. 

My most cherished roles include being a mother of my three children- Myah Victoria, Christopher, and Justin, and a supportive wife to Deric Mitchell for nearly 24 years. Myah is a 2020 Disney Dreamer of the Year and current aerospace engineering scholar & lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Officer Training Program at Tuskegee University, while Christopher is a high school senior attending Yale University in the fall of 2024, motivational speaker and aspiring US Supreme Court justice. My youngest -Justin, will be attending high school this fall excels in chess, karate, football, NY Alliance drumline, and promises to use his talents and gifts to change the world! I have successfully advocated for my children and I am ready to partner with you to do the same for yours.
